Best practice amp for 200-300 $$??

Ok, getting back into playing and I need an amp for personal use. Used to play anything from a little Laney wedge to my ampeg 810 classic in the past.

My choices are Laney, Ampeg (reading many mixed reviews about Chinese BA series), Peavy, Harke, Orange, Behringer, Fender, if I can find a GK under 3 too. I'd love a 15 but looks like 12s are in that price range. I'm playing a USA SB-2, I like simple warm blues sound over wet, processed signal. Weight isn't a factor. I'm kinda leaning toward Harke but I can't remember how Orange amps sound, like the idea of what they sell. I'm looking to buy new too.

A new Peavey Max 115 comes in at three bills with a 15, but I think you'll find reviews are mixed on it.

I'd rather go used and maybe find a GK MB115 II that's light, 200-watts, and is expandable. That or a year-old Fender Rumble 200 that drips old school vibe.

Awsome, thanks for all the great ideas, just got amazon credits for the purchase, if it were any different I'd already be playing out of a used local bought. Sorry I didn't mention that. Yeah I kept looking at the a70 by hartke. I had one of their 2x10 on biamp system back in the day, I'm just wondering if the a70 has the same punch/crisp vibe I got from my 10s, just didn't get a lot of warm lows from them.

Yrah I forgot all about Fender. The rumble 100 nice? I always had them on the back burner, really never considered them. I think a store in town has them to try, will call in the morning.

Ya I live savannah GA, would love a head/cab. Searching through the forum I see the fender is a popular choice, watched several YouTube reviews. Will definitly go by my local store and try one. They don't have the 100 but one smaller.

Used is the way to go. Keep checking your local Cragslist. There are some great deals to be found! I recently picked up a first generation GK MB 210 combo for $250. Something like that would not only be good for a practice amp but would also be gig worthy.

Yes the Hartke HD series is awesome rugged loud clean warm everything you need

Agreed. I had one of those for a while - a really great deal this is! The 200 is surprisingly loud with great tone.
