My vote goes to the Ampeg SCR-DI.
If you like the Ampeg sound (and this thing definitely has that Ampeg sound) it's an excellent choice for what you want to do IMO.
I really like mine. Best $200 I laid out in a long time. My late night practice and technique exploration times have doubled since I got one.
