Last week at practice I brought my Jazz bass with a fresh set of DR Stainless Lo Riders. The strings had about and hour of play time on them. After two hours of hard sweaty playing since it was fairly hot and humid the strings sounded half dead.
I know there was a lot of sweat but this seems a little out of the norm to me. I do rely on a bright zingy bass tone and I usually use DR Stainless since they keep that tone for a while. Usually my go to is the Fat Beams but sometimes I'll use Lo Riders.
I see a lot of string cleaners on the market like GHS Fast Fret, Dunlop has a spray, Erni Ball has wipes, there are padded devices that go over the strings, etc. Which and product and method is most tried and true? Just looking for some suggestions, thanks.
