Double Bass Best tablet for reading music?

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here, but then I have only started looking at tablets -- I have a netbook now. I know some musicians who use real books with just the changes on a 7" tablet, but the digitized version of the Real Books works fine on my netbook, and I suspect that it would work as well on tablets, and these have the melodies written out. (Of course, an app that would identify where the rest of the rhythm section was during the drum solo would be a welcome addition -- I suspect the pianist may have headed for the bathroom...)

I have the Real Books in pdf and would like to know what tablet would be best for reading them on the gig. Any thoughts based on experience?

I have an iPad and it works really well for pdf reading (as well as other formats) of music. For some good reviews on many options for tablets and applications, check out this website:

Cheers!

I got an HP Touchpad on firesale for $100. It works pretty good for reading but the OS was a little slow. After rooting it and installing Android there was some improvement and Android's version of acrobat allows you to write on top of the document which is really useful if you are using alternate changes/corrections. It's not as sexy as the Ipad but the screen is pretty big. If you can find one cheap it's worth while.

I'm currently in the market for a tablet too. At first, I was gravitating towards 10.1" tablets since 10.1 > 9.7 but if you look at them, you'll notice that 10.1s are narrower than 9.7s in portrait mode, the most useful orientation for reading full page PDFs. I'm now looking at 9.7" (4:3) tablets.
