Best way to sell

I'm just looking for advise. I'm not a musician. I have my uncle's old guitar- a vintage bass. Since I don't play, I was going to sell this guitar. I'm not sure if I should just list on Ebay, contact a vintage guitar shop, just visit a local music shop etc... I'm leaning towards Ebay. Any thoughts on the best way? By best I mean the most profitable. thanks

A lot of musicians are skeptical to buy from Ebay. Seeing pictures is nothing like being able to hold it in your hands and examine it. I rarely make expensive purchases from Ebay. To get your best dollar, have it appraised by a credible vintage shop if you have one near by. If not, surf through this forum and get some advice on how much it's worth. If you're in a highly populated area, try craigslist but be willing to meet buyers and tire kickers alike. If you don't have the patience try selling it or consigning it to a vintage shop or a credible music store.

Or... learn to play :D It's rough at first but once you get it, there are fewer things more rewarding.
