Mike or anyone using a MAS 46.
I am thinking of adding one of these cabs to the collection.
My current gig, when in town is a roots gig that involves two sets of upright followed by a set of precision. I was wondering about the volume range on these cabs. The current cab is a tc15a designed by Duke, and made by Mike. The question is will the 46 put out the same volume or near enough as the TC? Also will it work for lower volume gigs. I saw something in the thread about the cabs being happiest with a certain level of drive to optimize the response. At the same time I would be adding one of the tube pre Minnie power amp heads, keeping the genz as a back up.
Separate question. Is anyone using a foam wedge with these, between the cab and the head to isolate the tubes? For me it would help with being able to see / adjust the controls on the amp. Any other solutions available?
