Big Muff question

Hello, I am new to bass just started about 3 weeks ago and I was looking at your guys comments on effects pedals and the big muff seems to be one of the most recommended. I was wondering if I should try to find one of the original ones or if one of the currently made ones sound just as good and do they still currently make them even? or was I wrong and there is a diffrent pedal I should buy. I have already bought a dod fx-82 compressor pedal because I was able to find one still in box with original manuel and everything for 37ish dollars while used ones seemed to be going for a little more.

Old Big Muff requires a clean blend for bass, otherwise you will have zero low end and your bass will sound like a mosquito through an octave divider. New Bass Big Muff doesn't require a blend, so that = win in my book.

I am trying to play a little bit of everything and I probably don't "need" one but I would like to expirement with many diffrent things and find out what I really like to play while being able to play other styles too.

What is really the difference between the Pi and the Blogger? Is the blogger a "nicer" pedal Fuzzwise? And can I maybe tone the Pi down to the level of the Blogger? Not interested in a wicked fuzz sound, but more to fill in the guitar, if that makes any sense.. (punk-style) :hmm:
