Big Muff tips?

Does anyone have a big muff american eddition. Im trying to get a good sound out of it, but everything sounds like crap. I think i tried every postion but nothing! Is it maybe my bass or amp settings? I would really appreciate someone breaking this down for me.

It's a combination of Muffs liking to get muddy and Muffs being meant for guitar..

Well since you haven't really given us any idea as to what sound you're aiming for, there's not much we can help you with. However I do own a bass big muff pi, which features a lower frequency setting and a blend setting that allows you to keep your clear signal in the mix. What are you going for?

I used to have an NYC one, I did not like it at all. In my opinion Black Russian is the way to go.

Oh goodness, this is your first time, isn't it? Just be gentle with the tweeks, making minor adjustments if necessary. If you can't get it right try ditching it for her Russian friend.

Try modding it or going for one of the aforementioned Muffs or one of the Muff variants that work better for bass.

Honestly...I don't know what sound I'm going for, but I know there's nothing pleasant about any sounds I'm coming up with. lol Also I do have the one made for bass. The green one. I'll see if a local shop will let me try the Russian or some other brands. I'm going to mess with it some more now.

I liked the NYC Muff on bass. Totally impractical but it sounded great on its own, the other models don't go as crazy as the NYC model.

lol only if you send it back with the perfect setting. I think i had it too quite, i turned the amp louder and it sounds better. But i still think its a play by yourself pedal.

You won't find a Russian in a shop, they're discontinued.
