Bill Larence J or P pickups

Anyone out there using Bill Larence pickups that has an audio sample? I've heard a lot about them and am thinking of switching out my Dimarzio's for something else. I just haven't been completley happy with their sound lately. Any other suggestions on replacements? I'm staying passive.

I have the J and P - standard. The jazz are making a lot of noise these days (I'm going to try some shielding too), but they just don't have the punch that I used to love anymore. I think my tastes are changing. I want warmth and punch they have but I want a little more clarity without going active. Make sense?

To an extent. I'm surprised because both the Ultra Jazz and the Model J are reputed to be very quiet. Funny that you've been getting noise...

On the other hand, both the Bill Lawrence P46 and the J45 are supposed to offer excellent clarity. You'll probably love 'em...
