Bill Lawrence P-46 vs. Fender 62' Reissue

I'm planning on customizing my squier bass with 500k pots for tone & volume to add a more punchier tone. I don't plan on using quarter pounders since they don't seem to be as versatile as the Fender and Bill. Which pickup would suit my pick playing style? I play punk rock music so I dig that Green Day, Rancid tone.
Edit: I would like to also throw in the SD SPB-1

BL - very clear, transparent. Too much so for my taste. Rather modern sounding. Not at all what I hear in 'vintage' but that is subjective. The SPB -1 sounds like a Pbass to me. I personally run the 250 K pots regardless. I don't care for 'crazy bright'. IMO - that is not where punch lives.
my taste runs to 'round, full, well defined, clear' but no sizzle... just to throw more subjectives out there. like art, I know it when I hear it...
