So sad! Still play and sing one of his songs in a group I'm in. Just so hard to see these amazing artist pass from this world.

That was a really nice piece of documentary work. It must have been fascinating to be involved with the project. I got a kick out of Withers' saying "Boy, you sure get a lot better looking when you have a hit record, I'll tell you that!" So much talent, and such a humble, down to earth guy who was true to his own principles and had a strong enough sense of self-worth that he could walk away from the business at his peak because he didn't buy into the idea that fame was the be-all-end-all. Sad to hear he's gone, but incredibly grateful that he was here in the first place. RIP Bill...I got to work on his documentary film. Such a kind a sweet guy he was a pleasure to be around. One of the funkiest grooves ever in this tune. The studio version might a hair tighter, but this is cool too. A great man and an artist whose integrity I will continue to admire.
Edit: ah what the heck, here's the one that made my ear smile so many years ago:

A wonderful album and I love the story he tells before “Grandma’s Hands”; I listened to that track again today and it brought tears to my eyes.I am listening to Bill Withers Live at Carnegie Hall to celebrate his life, songs and incredible talent at delivering truth and beauty through song. Thank you for sharing your love and passions with us Bill - until we meet again and hear you sing for us again.
