I saw him on the Eat Em And Smile tour as well when I was a teenager. Great show with incredible talent.

Saw him in a small local club in his Talas days. High Speed on Ice. Incredible player and very humble, likable guy.

I saw the Eat 'Em & Smile tour in Ann Arbor in the 80's. Yes it was crazy awesome. I also had the pleasure of meeting Billy Sheehan at a clinic he gave at The Guitar Sanctuary near me in McKinney, Texas. I should'a sprung for the Paul Gilbert clinic too a day earlier. Mr. Big was playing Dallas for 1 or 2 nights.

Billy was very kind and gave everybody who wanted to meet him, about 20 of us, 3-4 minutes each. Very, very good fellow he is.

Got to know Billy 19 years ago , being the sole tech for the inaugural Bx3 tour, April of '06. He, Stu Hamm, Jeff Berlin, Jude Gold, and John Mader were my bosses (besides the road manager), and it was a blast. Work days were endless and tiring, but I loved every minute.

That is absolutely awesome. I remember when that tour was happening - three top players at the absolute height of their powers. Stuart Hamm and Jeff Berlin were really riding high then and Jeff's playing was just incredible at the time. I would have loved to have seen it. I spoke to Jeff about it a few times and he spoke so warmly of it, it seemed to really be a fond memory of his and he seemed really buzzed to have been able to play some jazz for a lively crowd!

I've seen Billy live twice, both times with Steve Vai. His tone and presence was just unreal, the 'size' of the noise he generates is immense. Sheehan, Vai and Tony MacAlpine all on stage at once; it doesn't get much better!

Indeed it was. Jeff was the least known on the tour, but sold the most merch! He gained a lot of fans then (probably because of his crazy-good version of Tears in Heaven).

Billy is the coolest...could have a pint with him any day. His sound is certainly PRESENT, and he's such a gear nerd.

The concert you mentioned was ridiculous. I can't fathom that kind of "ease" of playing.
