Birdsong Club Pt 2

I *think* I have the new member numbers right. Someone please correct me if they have these numbers already.

sigur d - 59
winemule - 60

Do I get a number? My Cbass was delivered a couple of weeks ago and have a Fusion and Corto on order.

ooooh - just the neck single coil? Sweet! That's one of my few regrets - not getting just the Lace Sensor and no bridge pickup. My other regret was not getting the hotter bridge humbucker instead of the "punchbucker."

So in other words, my regrets about Birdsong choices all revolve around the bridge humbucker and are mutually exclusive. Ah well!

Hmm, no it's actually gonna have the bridge too.. just hadn't been routed yet at the time that picture was taken.. here's the latest:[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
i'm stoked. I think the regular pickup will sound good.. won't it??

Ya know I actually thought about bugging them to put one of their p-style pickups in between the two..
ideally with the varitone on the regular two pickups and a standard tone on the p.
They'd probably never do it but I did think about asking for a day or so. :D

Yeah, the regular pickup will sound great - especially if you're blending the two pickups. Apparently the hot humbucker sounds great...but doesn't balance as well with the single coil.

No 3rd pickup! You'd cover/destroy too much of the gorgeous wood. :-)

Hi everyone, I haven't been on in a while so for those with a Cbass what is the consensus?
I want one for my next bass but I can't decide between a maple or rosewood fingerboard. I like the warmer P sound. I'm trying to get Scott to record a short clip with a cbass with a Maple fingerboard so I can hear the difference but no luck yet.

@acleex38 thanks for letting me in. I have never been more in love with a bass. Scott is my hero.
@banditcosmo that is my bass and a much better pic
thanks to everyone.Viva la birdsong revolution!!!
P.S. I am proud to announce that i just put the first down payment on the first ever birdsong super 6 can't wait.

So today I was hanging around on campus, bumped into this
music professor guy. He conducts the volunteer orchestra.
I had played upright for a semester and didn't get to come back,
due to scheduling conflicts with other classes and stuff.
So I ran into him and since I had heard that either he or one of
the other music dept. guys was into short-scale basses, I told him
about getting a guy to build me a really nice short scale bass.

Dude totally immediately shat right on the idea, saying stuff like
"Yeah, I never talked to anyone who was happy with having bought
a short scale.. Maybe talk to the guy, see if he can't extend.." etc.
So I suppose it was the other guy I'd heard about who liked short scales.
And I suspect this was his way of redirecting some of the
animosity that's there since I never came back to orchestra.
But he was saying all the classic "Don't balance / Crappy tone" etc.
And he was definitely being kind of dick-ish about it.

Too bad for this guy, huh!? Cause I don't believe I'll get a chance
to swing by his office and show him this snazzy f**cker right here:

Really is too bad that this guy's opinion on the matter is already so solidly formulated :D
Didn't even go to the trouble of mentioning all the great reviews/internet love these get,
nor did I say much at all about the company and their philosophy/realness/ all the characteristics we know and love.
I just got outta there, this guy's vibe was just plain too hot to handle... C'est la vie!

P.S. I am proud to announce that i just put the first down payment on the first ever birdsong super 6

Wow!! So THAT must be some of that
"super secret stuff nobody's supposed to know about yet"
that Scott mentioned the other day on the phone. :p
Kudos, Congratulations & God-Speed my friend!
I'm certain it will turn out to be a wondrous fantastical beast! :bassist:
