What do you think of The Brian Jonestown Massacre? Any interesting thoughts on the post-modern 60's stuff or hipster trash, depending on how you perceive it?

Not a fan. Derivative, unoriginal, self-consciously druggy/f-ed up. I'd rather listen to the real McCoy.

Right on! Had the displeasure of watching part of Dig! awhile ago...that's 20 minutes I'll never get back. That hypermarketed trash ruins it for anyone genuine, or at least provides a contrast in a saturated commercialized 'art' market. Artists need to create and audiences need to be inspired. Quid pro quo! = )

I had the displeasure of being dragged to a BJM show a couple years ago. The lead singer started out subltly asking the crowd for drugs. By the end of the show he had asked about 5 times, and was pretty much begging for them. Very sad. The rest of the band was a disorganized mess as well.
