I love the Realist for bowing on my bass, but am going to be getting a STAT-B for pizz moments. I'd like to be able to experiment with blending aspects of both pickups, something I've never considered before. I have a simple setup:

Realist--->Fishman Pro EQ (sometimes with, sometimes not)--->Acoustic Image Contra Series I

After a preliminary search, I've only found the D-TAR Solstice (And the discontinued Raven Labs). Would it be an option to insert this into the signal chain to blend the two pickup signals before going to the Contra? Are there other options as far as blenders go that might work? Ideally, I'd like to create the following chain:

Realist/STAT-B--->Blender--->AI contra (perhaps with the Pro EQ in there somewhere).

Yeah, I'm a bit ignorant as far as this stuff goes

  2. me thinks the solstice is the way to go, it gives you two blendable ultra-impedance inputs, and a phase control, which you want for messing with two sources ... plus if the experiment doesn't work for you, you can join the minions working with a mic or a mic with pickup.
