I have white pearl on a light blue metallic J w/maple neck. Looks very pro/old school

 

+1 for the white pearloid...I have one on my Blue Aerodyne w/ rosewood board

 

I don't really like blue anyways but black pearl is the best IMHO. And if you want you can throw black hardware on and it'll look super sharp

That's the plain-jane white. It's a clean look but rather blah, and it didn't do a thing for me, so I replaced it with black pearloid (see above).

White pearloid is quite different....and I like it, too. i might have gone that way if one had showed up before the black one did.

 

Black, white or vintage white(cream) pearloid all look great. So would blood-red tort.

Straight black if you ask me. I have a white guard on my blue SX, and I can't wait to get it swapped out.
