Blues set list

Recently, a drummer and guitarist I know have been trying to come up with a set list of blues songs to cover and play. I thought of some George Thorogood and some Allmans and even Chuck Berry. I think it may be good to add some rock to the blues sound. Thats just me. Of course we will tackle some good stuff too like Howlin Wolf or Freddie King. Maybe even some Albert King. What else would be good? What set list do you use?

Just look into elmore james,robert johnson,muddy,the wolf.
You'll find a bunch of stuff.

Why not go where Stevie Ray and all those other guys went to find their material? For starters, Chess has a "50th Anniversary" series of compilations available. I'd recommend the ones featuring:

Muddy Waters
Sonny Boy Williamson
Buddy Guy
Otis Rush
John Lee Hooker
Bo Diddley
Howlin' Wolf
Little Milton

...and several dozen more.

You have to learn "Stormy Monday" that is required.

Also From BB King, " The Thrill is Gone" and "How Blue Can You Get?"

"Red House" also gets played a whole lot

For shuffle blues, Sweet Home Chicago is required also.

The Big secret of blues is learning all all of the styles because the form is the same in about 90% of the tunes.

Just listen to XM or Sirius for a few hours and you will learn a lot

Sweetness. I loves me some Tab. We do versions of Downtown and Jambalaya with one of the bands I'm in. Love his stuff and good bluesy material that usually gets people up and goin!
