Is this Off Topic? Or Miscellaneous? Bob Dylan Reveals 'Heaven's Door' Signature Line of Whiskeys Bob Dylan revealed that he has launched his own signature line of whiskeys called Heaven's Door. The legendary singer-songwriter teamed with bourbon makers Angel's Envy to create a trio of small batch whiskeys: A straight rye, a double barrel whiskey and a Tennessee bourbon. "We both wanted to create a collection of American whiskeys that, in their own way, tell a story," Dylan said in a statement to the New York Times. "I've been traveling for decades, and I've been able to try some of the best spirits that the world of whiskey has to offer. This is great whiskey." The artwork on the Heaven's Door bottles draws from Dylan's ironwork to create massive gates. "The iron gates depicted on bottles of Heaven’s Door Whiskey were created by Bob Dylan at his metalworking shop, Black Buffalo Ironworks, and are comprised of found objects collected from farms and scrap yards across America: 'everything from farm equipment, children’s toys, kitchen utensils and antique fire arms to chains, cogs, axes and wheels,'" the Heaven's Door site writes.
Sounds great, but for the record, there is no such thing as "Tennessee bourbon." There is Tennessee whisky, such as Jack Daniels, and bourbon, but they are not the same thing. Similar maybe, but not the same.
They’re ornamental. But anyway the toddler better have a current tetanus shot. If Dylan actually makes those, I wonder how much they go for.
Whad'aya expect from a guy born Robert Allen Zimmerman. For the 'record', there is a Bob Dylan, but in reality, they are not the same person. Sorry, couldn't resist.
I drink Jim Beam. Why? Because I'm a cheap drunk. Do the math. What that has to do with this thread, I dunno. But I did the Jack Daniels tour and got lemonade at the end, I'm scared for life.
He isn't, but some may think it is ironic that younger members of the Wilburys, Tom Petty and George Harrison, left us before him.
Tennessee Bourbon. Hmm, something about that just don't sound right. I think Bob is confused. What's even stranger to me is Angel's Envy is in Kentucky. Pass. -Mike
Sammy Hagar made $80m when he sold 80% of his tequila business. And nobody's selling double platinum albums anymore.
It would seem to be nothing more than a marketing ploy......so it will probably work. Of course, they lost me at "Tennessee Bourbon". It doesn't exist, and besides, JD isn't something to aspire to from a taste standpoint.
