Bobby pin in door, massive fail

Coincidentally (or not) I've been playing New Vegas like mad recently. :o

We talked to our don (upper year floor manager guy) about it, he sent in a maintenance request, so I guess the problem's on it's way to getting it fixed.

As for the "putting things that don't belong in holes" comments, it's university, I'm supposed to experiment. :ninja:

To be fair J, you can actually pick a lock with 2 bobby pins, I've done it before.

only locks i was ever able to pick with a bobby pin (And a paper clip at the same time) were office desk locks/file cabinet locks.

hats off if you can do a real quality lock with just with bobby pins. that's some serious skill.

My buddy could pick pretty much any lock in the dorms other than the electronic magnetic locks on campus with a bobby pin. He had to do some finagling to it before he could use it, but he could take a stock bobby pin and pick the lock if you gave it to him. I got to the point to where I could pick a lock with a kit, but not that good.

Your dorm room?
LMAO!!
I guess it sucks to be you now, you're gonna have to tell on yourself. Time to report it to the floor monitor and get the maintenance guy there to fix it. Or you can keep screwing with it and mess it up really bad...and THEN call for the maint guy.

HA! Lucky you!

Or they could get our a screwdriver and take the door knob off and get the piece of bobby pin out themselves. Im surprised at the lack of intuitiveness in this thread. We're bassists, the MacGuyver of the band!

+1

Or paperclips

Or a key

Good one!

Your lockpick skill wasn't high enough ;)

Seriously, though, dorm doors use special locks that are damn near impossible to pick without a lockpicking kit. This was at OU, of course, so it may be different at your school.

You shouldn't have tried to force the lock.

Now you will have to wait untill you get to level 18+ and take the perk that lets your re-attempt them. I mean, its a waste of a perk really...

But imagine the goodies you could have locked in there, it has to be worth it!!
