"Electro-acoustic bass strings" are not a specific string type.

If any strings would benefit from boiling, it would be the "roundwound" strings. Is that what you're asking about?

(DISCLAIMER: I personally don't practice the method of boiling any strings.)

Did you read the replies to the other thread you started, got "analysis paralysis", and decided to just keep the current strings indefinitely?

Anyway: I don't boil myself. Doing a subforum search for "boil" and "bronze", what came up was mixed results: apparently, unless you manage to dry them quickly, bronze strings are easy to get ruined. Look into the alternative method of soaking into denaturated alcohol (use the forum search function and look up "alcohol").
