Hey my band needs a easy to record system for practice to remember the ideas we pass through that we can never remember. We have never really done any recording but i have ran sound for years and we have all been to the recording studio many many times. So we get the idea.

But we would like to record a nice sounding practice.. Not to sell but to just bring home and think over. Also might in time use it to make a few demo cds...and would want them to sound good.

Any input?

I don't have any experience with the BR-1200CD, but I do own the BR-1600. I use it to record our band (live recording-multi-track) and it works great.

I used to have the BR1180 and, unless they've changed it, you could only record two tracks simultaneously. This may make a 'live' rehearsal recording a bit tricky.
Again, the BR1200 may have more channels to play with. Good luck!
