Boss DD-7 Question: Pedal Automatically Powers On

Hello,

I've had a Boss DD-7 for several months, and find it annoying that as soon as I switch on the power supply, the pedal automatically turns itself on. My other pedals all stay off until I press them to turn them on.

Is this normal? Is there a way to change this? It's highly annoying, since I don't always use delay, and hate having to turn it off every time I power on my effects.

Yeah! I don't use it too much in the first place, which is why this is a problem!

I run into the same problem. I've just gotten used to turning it off everytime.

i have the same problem with my boss odb-3 and my boss rv-2. sorry but i dont know of any solution to it.

It's very hit and miss, even among Boss pedals. I have had several boss pedals that do this, and others that don't. And my DOD flanger does it too. I can't really figure out any rhyme or reason to it.

My RV-3 does it. My PS-3 did it. My DD-6 did it. My DD-2 does it. I've just gotten used to turning it off when I power up my pedalboard.

I've noticed this too and my theory was that the digital effects defaulted to "on" because they needed to boot up, loosely speaking. I don't think the analog pedals do this.

Most of my boss pedals do this as well. I turn it off. I too loose some of my life every time when i have to turn it off.

my dd-20 does it, my oc-2 only does it if the input cables plugged in, if i power it up then plug the cable in it doesn't do it, to be honest it's not the biggest issue in the world, i always fiddle with them before playing anyways

Thanks for your replies. I had also e-mailed Boss customer support yesterday, and received the following response today:

This is normal and how the DD-7 functions.

I have the same issue with my ODB-3. Didn't really think anything of it.

Sorry to be replying to a 11 year old thread. I was going over some of the boss pedals I own... the NS-2, the CEB-3, the ODB-3, the LMB-3. I have them daisy chained with the One Spot adapter. It kept irking me that every time I plugged the power in, the OBD-3 (overdrive pedal) would always TURN ON.

So like a good boy, I went to the website and read the directions for the pedal....

Accepts connection of an AC Adaptor (PSA series; sold separately). By using an AC Adaptor, you can play without being concerned about how much battery power you have left.

• As soon as you connect the AC adaptor, the unit is turned on.

Well... at least I know that something isn't wrong. Stay in school and read the manual folks
