Boss dm-2w wazacraft analog delay

The other Boss thread got me thinking, has anyone here tried this on bass? If so, what do you think? I’ve tended to lean toward digital delays for bass to avoid mud but my waza chorus is so good that I’m wondering if maybe the delay would be worth a shot.

The DM-2 is one of the kings of analog delay and the Waza is a very good recreation. For this reason it won't be good on bass. Too muddy. I have a DM-3 and it sounds very cool in the bedroom, but you just can't hear it live. Stay digital my friend.

Yeah I was thinking of buying one of these so I am glad I checked here. I am going to get the DD-3 instead

I have the DM 3w. Been using it a while with bass. Not 100% confidant in using it with bass, sounds a bit muddy. Panning to get a digital delay soon. Sounds great with guitar though.

I have both the Chorus and the Delay and both sound really good, I sold my DD-3 and CE-5 and keep the Waza ones, I think it depends on your pedal chain, positioning, and overall gear IMO

I thought about getting one but I love my DD-3 so much I couldn't justify it. Never considered that analog delay might be ill-suited for bass until seeing this thread funnily enough. Makes sense though I guess. I do think that "darker" or "warmer" tones can be annoyingly subtle in a live context. I always go for clarity above all else when making gear decisions. To me the sound of a DD-3 is just more exciting than other delays, like it's bringing some of its own energy to the sound, and I really feed off of that.
