Boss GT-10B in 2023! Does it sucks?!

Do you still use your Boss GT-10B in 2023? It’s a good multi Fx pedalboard. With a lot to cover in the Fx realm. I have one, and thinking on going again to use it. It has 2 xlr out, so you can send a clean signal and a distorted one (a thing that I like to do). And what about the preamp section with amp and cabs simulation. Are they still good in today standards?

What to you think about this almost vintage piece of gear?

I still use mine at every gig! Since I'm using in ear monitors now I actually run direct to the board from the GT10B's XLR output. A LOT of FOH guys tell me it's the best sounding and easiest to mix bass signal that they've ever worked with. I put a lot of work into tweaking and equalizing all my patches though. The dual signal path is awesome for my needs... currently progressive metal and a couple rock tribute bands. Most patches I have a clean channel and a dirty channel with any added effects basically wherever they sound best in the signal chain. I'm actually really disappointed they didn't continue with the same format for newer models. The new Boss GT1B is a huge step backwards in my opinion!

Nothing wrong with that... the GT 10B does do a bit more but not everyone needs a myriad of tones and effects. I'm doing a Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains tribute, whose bass players each have distinctly different tones and use various flangers, wah, octaver, chorus, overdive, etc. plus some "unplugged" stuff with an acoustic bass. And a Pantera tribute... And an original project... I know, it's ridiculous but I love it :^) So I have about 6 different basses and about 20 patches that I use across all those projects. So I NEED all the stuff the GT 10B offers... still waiting on my endorsement offer BOSS!!! LOL

Well the Tribute bands only do 3-4 gigs each per year. And the original project is slow going. A bunch of picky musicians want everything perfect, LOL.

I used to have a Boss GT-6B (the red one) in the early 2000s, and I recently picked up another on eBay. I actually enjoy it more now than I did then. Used it in a studio situation recently, with a Precision and it worked brilliantly.

I keep thinking i need a backup ME50B. Just because im so used to it and i love it. I look at more updated stuff too, but then again why?

I haven’t got a backup GT-6B but I did find it easy to get a good backup power supply.

Any chance I can get your assistance on setting up my GT-10B. I am trying to create a dirty channel coming out the R, and a straight bass tone coming out the L, and plugging into two seperate channels on the mixer. I am close, but still cannot seem to get some questions I have answered.

I haven’t got a backup GT-6B but I did find it easy to get a good backup power supply.

So, I "broke down" and bought a Zoom B3. I couldn't afford the ME90b. So far, the Zoom is fun, sounds good, and its smaller. I still have to learn how to use it properly. I did dial in great sound almost immefiately with it.
