Boss Me50b problem

Had this pedal (boss me50 b) for quite a while now, and all was grand for a year or two, now there is a strange distortion on every relativity loud note i hit. Sort of like it's clipping, but not nearly loud enough to be doing so.

She has fresh batteries, i have tried different leads, amps, basses, you name it. lol

Does any one know what the problem may be?
