Boss OC 2 and OC-3

My Taiwan OC2 with the Japanese PCB also works with a 1spot.

That's good news. I don't want to have to mess with other power supplies...Just got to try it out. It doesn't track like my Micro Pog or my Bass Synth Wah but it sounds great! Not that the tracking seems to be a problem.

You can much more easily mod the OC-2 than the OC-3 because it is analog. There are a bunch of threads and YouTube vids demonstrating those tones, and one day I want to learn how to do some soldering.

I don't know what kind of OC-2 I have, but I know I like it better than the OC-3's I've tried in the store.

Other possibilities: The MXR BOD, Markbass (as mentioned), Aguilar, Foxrox Octron, EBS, Copilot FX Cubic.

I've been using the MXR bass octave deluxe for a few months now and it is really great! It doesn't sound quite the same as an OC-2 but it gets as close as I've heard.

AND it does that 'clean' octave below that a lot of the modern octaves do.

Very good piece of gear - if you haven't already you should check it out!

Oh and for the OC-2 emulation turn the 'growl' all the way up and the other two off.

Just got to try it out. It doesn't track like my Micro Pog....

I couldn't imagine anything being better than the Micro Pog.
I hated the OC3 I had, tracked awful. Then borrowed an EBS and like it and tracked very well even though it seemed limited on how low it would go, so I bought one and played it til it died. Then I bought a Micro Pog....tracking is incredible and goes as low as my speaker cab allows. The octave up and down together give it a synthier sound than anything else I've demo'd.
