Bossa bass (Japan)?

Well, this song is not about showcasing the tonal possibilities of the bass, but I chose it since it still is pretty much up-front. I also had the coil-tap switch set to get a more evened-out tone.
I could try to play some solo stuff on it, but I'm really not much of a bass soloist.

Right now I get an error on the site and the email link to Hussain doesn't work. Don't know if this is a temporary situation or not.
Lately there have been used Bossa's for sale on Ebay.

Reviving an old thread..... Anyone have an update on how to contact Bossa? The website is still full of errors and no contact info.
If you can figure out how to contact bassist Hussain Jiffry, he was the US rep for Bossa, I'm sure he could point you in the right direction. He's a great guy.
The luthier of Bossa is Toshio Setozaki in Osaka.
I can't even find their Japanese website.
It appears they have changed the company name to 'Real Bossa Design'.
They have a facebook page, but I couldn't get it to translate.
If you search on 'Real Bossa Design' you will find some links to other sites where you 'may' be able to contact or translate to get to Bossa or a representative.
If you succeed. please post the contact info.

I know about that Facebook page. I advise that you work on your Japanese if you want to contact Setozaki through there. I do get the idea that is not very interested the non-Japanese market though, which of courses raises the question why he doesn't simply bring down that USA website.
I'm a bit miffed, because my OBJ-6M has trouble with its electronics. The neck pickup hums like a bitch even when in "normal" mode, and the coil-split option just seems a bit screwy. Local luthiers don't seem to have a clue how the electronics work though, so I wondered whether I could a schematic from somewhere. No luck so far.

That email link is no good. AFAIK they never really marketed in the US other than by word of mouth.
You can try the google translate option for the facebook site.
I can send you a diagram of the switching option. However, if I can draw it so can your tech.
As far as troubleshooting the pickups and switching, its pretty simple for any tech familiar with circuits and electronics.
A LOT of guitar techs are clueless when it comes to electronics and troubleshooting.
Luckily as far as the preamp itself, you're in luck that Bossa didn't use surface mount technology or cover the circuit with epoxy, which means it can be serviced by a competent electronics tech. Its not rocket science - just a straight forward preamp.

Friends, I have had a blonde Bossa Fretless since the early 90's. I bought it used in LA. It came with an extra set of matching pickups in the case. The guy who sold it had no idea why. The bass sounds so amazing I have never wanted to try them. Did anyone else's come with an extra set of pickups?
