bouncing souls bass tone

i am not a fan but i love his tone i was wondering if anyone knows how to get that sound out of a fender jazz bass.i got the same bass but i dont have the sound.he plays through an ampeg i have an gk i am sure amps has something to do with it too but i cant even come close to his sound any ideas?

He uses a pick. He probably has his high's cranked. Trying playing by the bridge.
