Double Bass Bow Hair

I was looking at some information about bow rehair and then I found all those different kind of hair: white, black, Salt and pepper, redhair... you know all those stuff.

So yeah has anyone hear of good place in Montreal that does it.

when I ask for guidance and direction same as you for rehairing sometime ago, my luthier indicated that any local violin shop should be able to perform this. That's what I did. Opted for the black hair. Really dark sounding and loud.

So just call a local violin shop and ask them. My luthier reiterated that if you are not happy, worse case it cost you $60-$70 and you can go somewhere else next time. I was pretty happy with mine though.

I just sent a bow up to Linda West in Santa Barbara (CA)... who really brought some new life to an old bow with a great rehair and a little work on the frog and tip. She used some really grabby black hair.
