Double Bass Bowing Velvet Garbo Lights?

The Garbo G doesn't really bow. If you got a set that used a plain gut G with Garbo Light E-D, you could have a setup that has that kinda scratchy PC-type arco tone. Any gut G would work, but I'd recommend a stiffer varnished string like a Chorda or Gamut to blend with Velvets.

Ive got garbo regs on the E and A, garbo light D,and a velvet plain gut g. The garbos bow pretty well. they have a slower bow response than id like, but once you get past that, they are pretty tonally pleasing. i do however find it difficult with the gut G, because it is far too different tonally compared to the other 3. Ive got a varnished gamut lyon G that im gonna try, but if im still not thrilled im gonna go back to an Oliv G. I had the Oliv on with this set before the gut. the tnesions were a little diff for pizz, but it was tolerable. as for arco, i thought it worked really well as a set.
