Bravo Lollar!

I have this Frankenstein 5 string Jazz bass I've been messing with. It had Duncan 1/4 Pounders when I bought it. Never have been a fan of those - too loud and grind-y sounding. Then I bought a set of used Lakland pickups that were OK, but the neck pickup got fried (still have the bridge pu if you want it), I splurged on a set of Lollars, and they are the sh*t! Clear and full, even, classic sound, good output but too hot. Kudos to Lollar!

Well, mea culpa the lead wires had become separated from the pickup and I was soldering them back on. I must have dropped a little solder on the windings somehow. Pretty stupid.
Oh, man, those are tough to work on!

While I’m good with changing out bass electronics, pickups are something I avoid messing with. Once I looked at them closely and saw how they are put together, I decided that was above my pay grade…

Good luck!

If you’d like the bridge pickup, you can have it for $5 shipping. That one works fine, in good shape, nice classic tone.
