The Cort/Cor-Tek plants in Korea and Indonesia have been OEM-ing quite a few Fender/Squier and Ibanez models for a long time...my Ibanez SA-120 guitar came from Cor-Tek's Indonesia plant (and it's really nicely made and plays wonderfully). Jerry Westheimer built that empire...

Samick's another huge OEM, with Korean and Chinese factories. And World Musical Instruments in Korea is PRS's Asian OEM of choice, going so far as to mention them on the back of the headstock (when most mfgrs. do all they can to hide the actual OEM of their product.)

Since Rondo moved outta town I can't manhandle these basses any more. Are these the same basses as the last one you had? Electronics the same? It looks sharp in the pics, I think I really have to get another one .... :cool:

They are pretty much the same except for the spalted top being added. I did change over the electronics and installed EMG-HZ pickups and a EMG BTC pre. This bass sounds a lot better than it did before and it has more output. It was not really that bad from the get go but I bought those parts before I had the bass and had planned to install them just to see how much of a factor the electronics plays in a bass.

Zippity-Do-Da!! Its finally here and shes absolutely stunning! The spalted top may be really thin but its got great markings and not a single scratch to be found.
Initially there was alot of fret buzz after I tuned her up but thats all gone after a quick adjust on the action. The neck is straight as an arrow, and I could not be happier.
The pics on Rondos website dont do this bass any justice at all. I will post some pics of my own asap.
Saying this is a great buy for the money is a massive understatment! It would be a great buy at twice the price!

Sorry for the slight bump, but I'm thinking about buying this or this Brice bass. I like the looks, and while reading I concluded they should sound OK. It would cost me about $500 (including VAT (I live in The Netherlands) and shipping ($110, DAMN that's a lot). Is it worth that?

If you're spending that much, you should spend about $60 USD more and get a neck thru.

Even the super-cheapo Douglas 5 neck thru blows away any bolt-on 5 I've got....or sold because of it.

I like Brice's(T-Bird clones, the middle one is a Greco LP clone).....
