Bridge pickup, suddenly lower output/naisly

Hello TB,

Ken Smith vintage tiger, randomly the bridge pickup had way less bottom end and was lower output. I'm going to take this to my tech but in the meantime, anyone know what's happened here?

Have you checked to see if the pickup or string height has changed? It's possible if either has changed it increased the distance between the two, producing less signal. Sometimes older pickup screws rust out, or the foam or springs underneath give out, causing it to fall away from the strings, into the body. Or maybe your bridge saddles got raised somehow. (Neck bow could also be a cause.)

The most common electronic reason this happens is a loose / intermittent connection somewhere between the pickup and the output. Your tech will troubleshoot the signal to see if this is the case.

Very rarely, it might be a broken or corroded wire inside the pickup itself, but well-made and potted pickups shouldn't do that.
