Bridge question

I installed a bridge on a p bass body and have a small problem. The body had pilot holes for the bridge and I installed it. Seems to be a little too far forward as the string silks went over the saddles. I can trim the silks or should I move the bridge back a bit. I know I should have measured first, but I was in a hurry to put this bass together. Suggestions needed... Thanks in advance.

Speaking of which... As I was sharing this image in Quadzilla's thread, it reminded me.

The string silks running over the bridge saddles evidently worked for Herbie Flowers.
