Bridge question

I installed a bridge on a p bass body and have a small problem. The body had pilot holes for the bridge and I installed it. Seems to be a little too far forward as the string silks went over the saddles. I can trim the silks or should I move the bridge back a bit. I know I should have measured first, but I was in a hurry to put this bass together. Suggestions needed... Thanks in advance.

No problem the way they are in the pic. No need to do anything other than play it and enjoy.

Doesn't look that far off. Is your intonation dialed in? The staggered saddle positioning is peculiar.

if it's intonated (as a part of your setup) = trim the silks (so they're not touching the saddles) and play!

edit: if turnaround says it's cool = it's cool!

Thanks, The bass intonation is fine, it just looks weird. I'll leave it alone for now.

Yes, it was. It's been through a lot over the last 61 years; 62 years if the legend were true.
