Didn't hear Acquiesce until I heard them play it on SNL in 1997. I didn't have Internet around that time so I scoured my Oasis Cassette tapes trying to find that song. I didn't even know the title of it until I did a Lyric search at School the next day.
Sorry for re-living this thread, but a great Britpop player is Suede's Mat Osman. The basslines of So Young and Heroine are very cool.
Must give Suede a re-listen - haven't heard them for ages, and Bernard Butler's guitar work got all the attention. (Deservedly so - he's quite a player.)
Zombie thread bump. Always been a “Britpop” fan. Was listening to some Verve again and got curious about Simon Jones’ Jazz bass. Seems like he’s played the same one for most of his time with the band. Looks 70’s to me but I can’t find any info about it online.
