Double Bass Broken Neck!! Repair in UK?

Hi
While transporting my bass today it slipped and fell, snapping the neck off at the heel!
I think I may need a new neck built.....or a new bass. Does anyone know the best repair places in the UK and somewhere to rent a bass from?
Thanks

Hi,
sorry to hear about your bass.
The workshop of Thwaite's is in Bushy, a village near Watford. Seeing you are based in Leeds, it is a bit of a treck for you. I'm sure people will chime in with better options, but just in case. These guys at the shop will do a good job for a decent price. Got my bass's snapped neck back in place in not too long a time, and lent me a bass while they worked on mine. http://www.thwaites.com/ is the home page.

+1 for Thwaites. Bill the owner is a great guy. Say hello for me if you call him. Many of the repairs on older Basses there were done by the great Roger Dawson. Either way, Bill will treat you right.

Hi Ken, good to see your posts around again!
Roger hasn't been taking much work lately since he had some health issues. He's been spending more time with his family. He did work at Thwaites workshop on and off for several years. I once heard Roger's bass which he made for his wife(if my memory serves correctly) in his old workshop in Greenwich, and was floored by the detailed quality in the tone. And there was £30,000 old Italian bass being restored on a work surface..... It was difficult to not wet my pants....:D

Thanks for the reminder, he is an amazing pro.
