haven't had it long (got from uglybassplayer late last month), but the neck is a bit too skinny for my liking.

never been out of the house, rarely out of the bag which comes with the bass. I also got the truss rod wrenches from Dean the other day.

asking what i paid for it, $550 shipped ConUS. PayPal Echeck preferred (takes longer to clear, but costs less on my end)

only two dings on the bass, as seen in the pics, but that's how I got it. you can't see them from the front.

I'd rather sell it, but I'd be up for a trade. 6 string, 4 string, 5 string fretless, just not a fretted 5. I've got one of those. let me know.

Cheers!

chances are she'll be up on the forum again. she gets around, that B2.

I've had two of them and as well as the 5 string version. They are VERY versatile basses with an excellent build quality. IMHO people don't take enough time to get used to them. I've never owned a bass where strings made such a huge difference in sound. Also, getting used to the Piezo takes some time as well. IMHO, having such a HUGE pallete of tone and sound available at your fingertips can be confusing!!! I would suggest that any new owner be willing to experiment with a few different strings. You also need to be flexible with you amp settings and work the the B2's preamp. When I first got mine and dialed up the Piezo, it sounded HORRIBLE. You really need to spend time warming up to these basses!!!

I've been silent til now since I didn't want to jinx anything, but I'm the lucky guy that's snagged this one up this time, pending fund clearance of course! Even though paypal says it takes 3-5 business days for funds to clear, I've been checking like every 5 minutes.....oh well. Don't think I'm gonna get to use it on that gig next friday. But from the talk, it probably wasn't a good idea to break it in on stage anyway.

It's good to know that they take some getting used to. Even though this one's been around the block a time or two, there aren't many used ones floating around the internet that I've been able to find. The reviews have been very positive and people seem to be holding on to them.

Thanks for the info

P.S. Hey Knifemaker, any string recommendation's? I currently use tapewounds but was thinking of putting flatwounds on the B2.
Thanks

I found the lower tension High Beams worked best on mine. I'm sure quality nickel rounds would work well also. Flats, Low Riders or Fat Beams were to0 zingy and trebbly. I found the Piezo good for just adding a little sparkle or color to the sound, turning it up beyond that sounds like hell :)

Somewhere on the net there's a picture of someone playing one live, it might be Bromberg, I don't know. Each knob had black tape markers around it. I can understand why.

I have a 5 string version of one of these. They are truly phenomenal basses. This is without doubt the most versatile bass I've owned (and I've owned a few).

I agree wholeheartedly about the choice of strings being an important factor. The wrong strings may make this instrument too bright for many people's liking when played with its settings flat. I use Elixirs on mine. I tend to use the piezos mainly for soloing (along with a tweak of the mid-boost knob).

If you want to do a really successful mod on this bass, replace the Dean pickups with Bartolini J's. These were the pickups meant for the American version which was never put into production. If you think the bass sounds good as it is, wait until you hear it with these babies! Talk about focused sound! This bass is also super quiet (no buzzing) until you decide to hit a note.

The only problem I have with this instrument is that for some reason, only one of its (2) 9v batteries is in a quick release compartment. The other one is nonsensically placed with the rest of the wiring under the screwed down back cover plate!

From your experience, does any guage seem to be better than another?
Or does it just depend on the set up?

I was thinking of the bartolini switch myself!

Thanks
