anyone played both or own both or etc....

or a review over the Brute by itself would be nice also...

I've played both, and IMO, no contest.The Brute, hands down.

I played a Brute, and it was one of the better basses I've played. I haven't played an MTD, but I would put the Brute up against many basses. It seemed very tonally versatile.

Interesting question... I ALWAYS factor in value/price. I can't help it.


Stingrays are unique beasts. Just like I tell people about Ken Smiths, if you like the Stingray sound, get one. That's the easiest way to accomplish that. OTOH the MJX model does a pretty good job of capturing that vibe IMO and has a neck pickup.
