I bought this on this site in 2021, fixed it up a bit and played some gigs with it. It worked well with my acoustic duo but I've decided to go with my Azola (which cost 4 times as much).

The BSX plays well and sounds good. It came to me with some very heavy Spiros on it that I struggled with so I put on a set of Corellis that are a lot lighter and much easier to play while still providing a full sound. I will include the Spiros but please note that they were cut just barely long enough for this bass and may not fit anything else. The Corelli's windings are a bit too long for the BSX at the bridge end so I removed the plastic tailpiece cover and wrapped them around the tailpiece once. I put some velcro between the strings and the tailpiece to prevent any rattles. This works well. I will include the tailpiece cover, which has a small crack in it, and screws.

It has volume, bass, mid-range, and treble controls. The pots were scratchy when I got it but I cleaned them and they have been dead quiet ever since. Underneath the bridge there are mini-pots that adjust the output of each string as well as an overall volume pot. This is a great feature for adjusting string-to-string volume due to various string sets. I don't know why more makers don't do this. The preamp sounds good to me. Transparent and powerful.

It has some scuffs on the body. Nothing too bad but a couple are noticeable from a few feet away. Also, a previous owner added shallow scratches on the sides of the fingerboard marking key positions. I found this helpful for finding my way around the fingerboard when I first got the bass. The sides of the fingerboard, which appears to be ebony, are painted black so the marks could be hidden with black magic marker or paint.

The bridge support has a small hole in it, perhaps for an extra pickup at some time. I used a black magic marker on it so you may not be able to see it in the pictures. It doesn't affect tone or playability.

It comes with a padded bag. Just take the endpin out with a screw and hand nut., lower the bout, and it fits in the bag. There is a compartment for the endpin. It's easy to set up and compact to travel with.

Here's a link to the thread where I bought the bass: SOLD - BSX Bass

The bass is designed to be played without a stand. The stand in the pictures came with another bass, is not included, and was used only to hold the bass when not playing. I have another stand that also works for holding it so would think that many commercially available stands would work for that purpose.

I'd prefer a local sale but will consider shipping at buyer's expense
