Buckeyeburl Singlecut

I started this build a while ago, but I forgot to open a thread about it...

Specs:
Model: Adamovic Jupiter
Body: 1 piece abachi
Top: 1 piece Buckeye burl
Feneers: wenge/beech/wenge (got the beech feneer for free so..)
Neck: maple/purpleheart/maple/purpleheart/maple
Fretboard: Ziricote
Pickups: 2x EMG 35tw (2x volume, 2x tone)
Bridge: Hipshot A style, black
Tuners: Hipshot Ultralites, black

Routed the pickup cavities and wetted the top:

Glued feneer to the neckblank:

Slotted the fretboard (34") and glued the bindings (I don't know what it is with that cat, but she loves wood haha):

This is how it is at the moment:

There is just something about buckeye burl that really trips my trigger. Especially in a single cut. Probably because there seems to be more burl to look at. =p Very nice bass, looking forward to seeing more. =)

I got it from Andy @ Link Removed. I think I bought his last sets a few years ago.

It will be glued in neck. The neckpocket is pretty small, but it will work.

Buckeye burl is one of my favorite tops... I've drooled over this for a long time. Drooling is all I'll be doing. Congrats on what will be a gorgeous bass!

Neck is ready for glueing it in:

After sanding I found out there is a light spalt in the headstock. I thought it was darker sandingdust but I can't sand it out

Glued the neck in, and sanded everything. I think I'll give it another round of sanding before finishing it, because both the abachi and the buckeye burl are so soft that they dent easily.

(stringspacing looks a bit of to me, I have to adjust the saddles for the A and D

Not sure about the finish. I like high gloss but most of the time I think that's a bit too much for buckeye burl.. so I'm considering a satin fishish at the moment

High gloss would ruin it IMHO. But I think that about pretty much every bass, so take it with a grain of salt.

Is it me or does the right side of the bridge look off a bit? It kinda looks like the bridge isn't right on. Otherwise looks awesome. I think satin would look good, the high gloss is probably to much for the buckeye. Still looks awesome!!

You're right. I just put it on quickly. I have a little wiggle room so it will be allright when I set it up after finishing.

Dude, the only entry point when its done is going to be the 1/4" jack hole. Ouch. Plus you'd totally soil the electronics. Not cool...
