I play electric bass in a jazz trio with a repertoire of standards, bossas, sambas, etc. However we’re sometimes called on to play some contemporary tunes that require some subtle slapping—tunes by Grover Washington Jr., etc. Can anyone recommend a teacher in the Buffalo, NY area who could get me going on this technique? I would take a look online as well..there might be some specialist out there that are nowhere near you.
