When things suck worst, a dose of shop time gives me at least the illusion of control on a small scale. I’m 100% responsible for the success or failure of each tiny detail. Just the act of woodworking filters out everything else.

Assuming you mean the leather pickguard... I start with a drawing that I transfer to wet leather by tracing it and making an imprint. Then I cut all the lines and add shade/relief with hammer and small stamps. The background gets coloured before all the rest to give it some extra depth. Very time consuming but I really enjoy working with leather. Like I do for all my basses, I'll make matching straps for these too.
