Building a PJ-5 - need help

Hi there,

I'm looking to start a new project... Building a 5 string PJ bass! I can find plenty of 4 string p and pj templates but nothing on a 5. Just wondering if anyone has a PDF or scale drawing or knows where I could look.

Also looking for a template for a Fender Jazz 5 string neck.. The plan is to have a P body with J neck and have the P&J pickups.

You can make a 5 string template out of a 4 string template. Just rout move the template over to widen one coil.

I was wondering if the bodies were the same size.. I might try that option if I can't find a good template.

I am in the middle of a build that is exactly what you are indicating.

I used a template from this place as a starting point [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I then redrew the neck to be a 5 banger, and made the body not as wide, and made new templates from those drawings.

Edit: I'm using Bill Lawerence pups with standard P and J pup routing. The pole pieces in these pups go out to the edge of the pup to cover for 5 strings.
