I have an answer!
As most have pointed you to other books -- this is not a chromatic approach and I do not have the book you are using, however, one way to approach any note is.... lets say R is C on the 4th string 8th fret. You get back to C by taking a turn-a-round 7, 3, 6, 2, 5, 1 approach or B, E, A, D, G then C. I know you've heard of that before.does anybody own the book building walking bass lines.
