Thanks for the heads-up and sorry for the slow response! Will take a look. A friend wants me to make him one now, but it looks like I got a really good price on that yew so I'm looking around to see what other woods might behave similarly. A chat with a subforum of bass luthiers might be exactly what I need at this point!
