Burst Jazz with white pg or b/w/b/

Have a burst J. Wanting to put a pg guard on it. Decided against tort. It's a toss up between white and black. What say you?

I'd say black because it's different from the norm, you see alot of white pickguards out there.
That being said, tort always looks killer on a sunburst.

I voted other. I have a white pearloid guard on my Am. Std. 'burst Jazz, it looks pretty good!

However, I do like the black pickguard on my 3 tone sunburst '75 P-bass.

Depends on whether it has a rosewood or a maple board. If it's maple, then I'd go with black. If it's rosewood I'd go with tort, although black also looks great with the rosewood/burst combination. Personally, I just do not like white guards on burst basses.

Tort or Black 3-ply, to me white just makes it look cheap. Creme or some aged look color is fine as an alternative to white.

If you're not going Tort, I'd definitely say go with the B/W/B.

Hey, SRV had a black guard on his sunburst Strat. Good enough for me if it's between white and black.

I voted Black, but honestly I'd prefer the Tort guard as well.

I put a cream pg on my Geddy Lee Jazz along with gold tuners, gold badass II bridge with DR Black Beauties for strings. It looks great!

It will be rosewood fretboard in the near future. It's currently fretless (black.)

I'm surprised at the little love for white/creme pg's on bursts. I understand and agree that tort is the way to go. Something in me just doesn't like to follow the rules.

Quick little back story behind the question. I currently have a Squier VM Fretless. I will be swapping a VM P rosewood P neck onto it. This is the bass that I am currently asking about.

However, this leaves me with a spare fretless neck. Just need a body and such and then I can have another one with a different pg.

Someday, when I have proper cash, I will get a vintage Jazz and put a tort pg on it. Promise!
