Double Bass Buying Folding Bass in China!

Dear community,

I’m looking n the need of help. I got offered a tour in China but the promoters say it is rather hard to find decent rental instruments there, if any at all (). I’ve thought then on the possibility of actually buying a folding one over there. I recall some of the Chadwick were made in China. The thing is, it seems also really hard to get connections to factories there.
Does any of you know who to contact/where to go in Shanghai or anywhere really?
Any lead would be highly appreciated!

Thanks y’all and have a Lovely Sunday!

The Chadwicks are no longer in production. They were Shens made in China and modified in the US by Charlie. A friend of mine is selling hers if you don’t mind a bass painted black.

Thanks!
I know Chadwick is out of business, i had some mails with him back in the days but he retired on me
That’s very kind of you, unfortunately black is like the only color i can’t stand hehe.
Thanks so much anyways!

I am one the only people who is happy with their Chadwick. Here are some of the reasons:
1. I have a hybrid
2. I had it set up by a great luthier
3. I use spiro solos, they work better with lower tension
4. I replaced the endpin.
5. I play it regularly so I am used to it
If you do all those things you can have solidly adequate travel instrument.
