Buzzing pbass help!!!!

Hi,

On a Squier CV Jazz, I had some weird buzz as well. I removed strings, neck. I ended up dismantling the bass. And in the end I found out it was coming from the E string tuner. I don't know how to explain exactly but basically, it got damaged and some part of the tuner were slightly vibrating when playing the E string.

Seems like Fender is starting to have some QC issues

Fender and every other company has QC issues. These are mass produced instruments that are shipped hundreds of miles across states, enduring drastic temperature changes and are tossed around trucks like bags of popcorn.

There's a difference between a genuine QC issue (flawed finishes, warped necks, etc..) and common maintenance issues that are normal and most people know to address when receiving a new instrument.

Its not exactly a new instrument i bought it new from gc in january did my own setup and generally can fix most things but i cant seem to pinpoint this issue idk what exactly to do

have u left enough string winding at the tuners?.. u sure the noise isn't near the nut? try stringing thru the bridge and remove the grommets? i had to remove them on my j bass

Ok so i'm sitting here with pickguard off and have tried all these suggestions and still nothing could it be the little springs on the bridge???

Bridge springs can rattle if loose. Remedy is to take the spring off and stretch it.

I had this issue with Fender AV 62 Jazz....it was a subtle buzzing noise coming from inside the body. After many months finally found out it was coming from inside the control cavity....a metal wedge that holds down the brass plate had come loose and was vibrating on it.

Bridge springs can rattle if loose. Remedy is to take the spring off and stretch it.

I also had this phantom rattle and it was the spring behind the g string saddle. Drove me nuts.

I've got a mij 62 reissue p bass and have a slight mechanical buzz coming from the body. It has the brass shield plate under the pickups and it vibrates when I play the open A string. Maybe check that too? I can't hear it when plugged in.
