Bypassing the amplifier

I have a David Eden NC200P 4x10.

I was curious if it's possible to bypass the amplifier itself to just use it as a cab, but continue to use the external speaker jack to run my external cab(2x10 1x18). The last part isn't too important. I can just always put the other cab on another ch.

I'm just asking because a friend of mine is selling his old solid state Hartke amplifier. Think it's 2 ch 700 watts.

You would need to install a jack, wired directly from the internal spkrs. The ext spkr jack would not work, but you *could* daisy chain from the jack you intall, or wire up 2 jacks in parallel.

It depends upon the impedances of the drivers in the combo and your other cabinets. Most bass amps have a minimum impedance load of 4Ω. Combos tend to have internal drivers that use all of that load. The amp has an external jack then if it is in parallel, you likely have an internal load of 8Ω. Thus you can add ONE more 8Ω cabinet safely. If the jack is a series connection you can add what you like with the caveat that output power will be reduced.

As Rick posted you'll need to know how to wire a jack up to do what you need. In my mind the result would be questionable as you have no idea how the cabinets will react with each other.

The external jack is a series connection point. I can uses any impedence, but 2ohm or 4ohm is best. The 2x10 1x15 is actually a 4. I think the drivers in the Nemesis are eaither 4 or 8 OHM
