If you could choose between ONLY the following 2 cabs as a standalone for playing in 2 bands, #1 = rock, #2 = drop D metal, which would you choose?

price, size and weight are NOT a factor.

Avatar B212 Neo

Traynor YBX1510

My head is the Yorkville XS400

Probably the Avatar. I don't play any drop D metal though so I'm not sure how it would be with that. I think if size, price and weight are not a factor I'd go with something more high end than those two, good as they are for the price.

I don't quite play your style, im a Classic rock, Electric Jazz/Jazz Fusion guy who also plays worship music as well,
but I always found 12 inch speakers to be the best of all worlds, especially in numbers! A 2X12 is an awesome cabinet!
The outright best setup for you would be a 1X15 with a 2X12 or 1X12. The downside of 2X12's is the price! They usually run about $700-$800.

Just for future reference if someone does a search, I A/B'd both cabs today and did the trade. The Yorkville killed the Avatar. I have nothing bad to say about the Avatar as it served me well and was my third Avatar to date, but it was no contest.
